So, it was actually Chris Snyder who pulled the plug on Eric Byrnes' at-bat intro song from The Outfield and brought back Van Halen's "Jump".... and Byrnesie wasn't really happy about it.
"I was upset," Byrnes said. "I thought they changed it up top. I like hearing The Outfield, and even when I wasn't getting hits, it was nice to hear. Now, Snyder won't let me change it back."That's OK Eric...the rest of Phoenix knew it had to go as well...let it die. Watch his homer from last nigh here.

Got the young and electric Max Scherzer on the bump this evening against the Tigers' Armando Galarraga (2-1, 3.07). Scherzer will be going for his major league win in three attempts. His first two were solid with an ERA of 3.14. Hmm...3.14...Pi...think that means he'll win tonight and get a pie in the face...I have a feeling he's due tonight.

Doug Davis will make his second and last minor league start for the Sidewinders tomorrow. It is expected that he will take Scherzer's spot in the rotation with Max going back to the pen. It's somewhat unfortunate, but what else can the D-backs do?? Webb...Haren...Owings...Johnson...none of those guys are going anywhere. I suspect a spot will open back up for him soon though.

Good story on mlb.com on Kirk Gibson and his history with the Tigers. As the Tigers manager Jim Leyland says:
"The best thing he had going for him, which is what I like in all players, he came here every day to try to beat the other team," Leyland said. "That's what he came for. He was out there to beat you."That's Gibby.
