I think the D-backs really do need a rest....and four days this week should suit them just fine. After another Chad Qualls meltdown on Sunday, here's hoping that the bullpen will all go to a spa and get rested up for the second half.
With the bats finally starting to come around though, sure hope the break doesn't cool off the offense. They're finally starting to show glimpses of the team we saw in April.
But, the D-backs are still in first place....argh...I know it's embarrassing to even call them a first-place team...but there you have it. My prediction is that the team looks closer to the team was in April then the one in June. Is 90 games still a possibility...it's remote...very remote...but...this did team put together a big winning stretch after the break last year, so it's certainly possible. I'd say they're looking at about 87 wins right now. If that wins the division - most certainly won't win a Wild Card - then I'll take it. Just get us to the playoffs baby, and anything can happen.
